CTV – Tamil protest closes Toronto’s downtown core

A massive protest has closed a swath of Toronto’s downtown core.

Tamil protesters have converged on University Avenue, outside the U.S. consulate, forcing police to close the street from College to King Streets.

Queen and Dundas Streets are also closed from Spadina Avenue to Bay Street as a result.

National Post – Tamil protests shut University Avenue ‘until further notice’

University Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic in both directions, between Dundas Street West and Queen Street West, due to an ongoing Tamil community vigil demonstration.

These road closures will be in place until further notice.

One of Toronto’s major traffic arteries has been closed down because of a protest by Tamils in front of the U.S. Consulate.
