Australian Tamil community appalled by recent incidents of violence

The Australian Tamil community is appalled by the recent incidents of violence between some members of the Sinhalese and Tamil communities in Australia.

While the entire Australian Tamil community is mourning the colossal human tragedy that has engulfed the Tamil people in NorthEast Sri Lanka, the community wishes to mourn with peace and dignity.

The Australian Tamil community does not support any violent activities and strongly condemns any ethnic based violent acts, regarded by the community as extremely detrimental to the social well being of all Australians.

The Australian Tamil community wishes to thank the Australian public and Australian Federal and State Police Forces for their understanding and cooperation during the many peaceful demonstrations, and wish to extend their full support and cooperation to them.

The community has been and will continue to work with the authorities to assist them in their investigations.

The community also prays that all the victims of the recent attacks make a swift and full recovery, and the perpetrators are brought to justice.

All those LTTE supporters who came as refugees should send back to SL. This is not SL, this is Australia. This proves that not only LTTE, but also LTTE supporters are terrorists.

Your comments, like your name are a joke, “Tomcat”. Perhaps if you became a little more informed and better educated about the current humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka and the atrocities being committed against innocent Tamil civilians, you may not have to hide behind such farcical disguises to espouse your views, which are clearly designed to spread hate and villification. But given your clear level ignorance and lack of credible argument, such an outcome seems unlikely.
