World Today : More controversy at the Melbourne International Film Festival
A documentary on the exiled Uighur leader Rebiya Kadeer was not one of the headlining events at the Melbourne International Film Festival but thanks to the film, the festival now has made headlines around the world.

The Festival’s website has been hacked into in protest about the decision to defy the Chinese Embassy and show the film on Rebiya Kadeer.

Our brothers and sisters in East Turkestan are dying at the hands of the Chinese!

Support us and let’s walk together in solidarity.

SUNDAY 2nd AUGUST 2009 at 12.30pm

Gather at Belmore Park (Eddy Ave Central Railway station)

The Uyghur people of East Turkestan are crying out for our help!
Let’s send a strong message to the Australian government that the killing of the Uyghur people must STOP!
This is a small sacrifice to make for to remember those who are not so fortunate.
Bring a hat, bring a whistle or a drum and get loud!
