    UN Charter states genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

    1) Killing members of the group;
    2) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
    3) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
    4) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
    5) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.

    The Sri Lankan Government has breached first 3 of the above and continuing with their genocide; The International Committee still hasn’t got their act together to stop this genocide. Each day we are seeing the deaths of civilians including women and children and hundreds of people getting injured.
    The people in the war zone desperately need help!!!

    The tamil people have suffered for 30 long years. The Australian government that cries over the dead in the recent bushfires has to raise this. More than 2000 civilians have died. An immeadiate ceasefire has to be implemented. If we remain silent we are as guilty as those that commit these attrocities.

    The earlier the International Community comes out of the cloud of believing the statements that are being made by President Rajapakse and its clan, they will be above to safe the lives of innocent Tamils in Vanni and avoid injury. Sri Lankan Govt has force the civilians to seek shelter in safe zone and easily prey them. It proclaims that the LTTE are not letting the people to come of the war zone. My request to International Community is to think and see how come thousands of people are coming out of the war zone with injury and are being taken to hospitals in Trincomalee and treated. The pregnant women are forced for abortion, young girls are being raped in the refugee camps and boys are being killed and are being taken as slave by para-military group.

    Why did not the International Community condemn the Sri Lankan Government when Tamils are being kept in open prison in Jaffna and in places the Govt took control? They are denied free movement and unable to travel out of Jaffna or elsewhere. Why the international community still buying what the oppressors version and not the oppressed version. Is it for economic benefits. Please, wake up and stop the genocide before it is too late. Thanks

    For nearly 30 years the LTTE has committed genocide on the entire country. Now when terrorism is being wiped out by the Combined Forces there is case of genocide in Sri Lanka- What we have now is attempting to wipe out a brutal terrorist outfit so that the entire country can live in peace!

    Pro LTTE propaganda is disgusting to say the least. Ask Tamils living overseas how many thousands of Tamils are living all over the country among Sinhalese and Muslims without hindrance? They have no answer!

    The Tamils in this once peaceful and beatuiful land have suffered due to discrimination, suffered mentally due to all the abuse and torturing, they have suffered due to physical abuse. One is still hopeful that there will be light at the end of all this test of time for the Tamil community. May the time come for the Tamils to live with some dignity.

    What LTTE did in the past 30 years was brutal murder of innocent civilians of Sri Lanka. They killed Indian Prime Minister Hon: Rajiv Gandhi. They indulged in ethnic cleansing of all sinhalese and muslims lived in entire nothern province of the Country.LTTE is engaged in international drug trade, illegal arms smuggling, money laundering, misleading international politicians and foreign governments, establishing dangerous precedents in western counties USA and Australia, to say the least.
    Sri lankan government has not fired a single bullet to kill a tamil civilian in its 30 year war with the LTTE. The LTTE sympathizers must refrain from misleading the world community. State facts; not emotions.
    It is LTTE who moved into the NFZone, hiding behind the Tamil civilians who came there for safety, and firing heavy artillery at the Sri Lankan Army. Any Army will have to retaliate and civilians are caught in the crossfire and that is not “Genocide” what UN Article contemplated. Do not use such an explosive word so lightly. The fact that, more than one hundred thousand tamil civilians fled the NFZ to seek refuge and safety in the hands of the Army (the Sri Lankan Government) is irrebuttable proof to say that Tamil protesters in Canada, USA, England, Paris, Norway and Australia are lying to the World and misusing the tolerance and generosity of those democratic societies.
    Tamil protester ulterior motive is to give an extended life to now cornered LTTE muderous leadership so that they can keep alive their hope for carving out a seperate State.

    Match is over. Bails are down. Sri Lanka won by innings and 500 runs. Umpires are back in the pavilion. No match between these sides are scheduled for another thousand years. The Eelam team should play the next match in India. Never in Sri Lanka again, not in thousand years.
